- collaboration between national research financiers, the private sector and the EU's programme should continue and be strengthened
- the Grand Challendes facing society are to be made into objectives for initatives into future framework programmes for research, development and innovation
- the knowledge trangle of Research - Education - Innovation is to be integrated into the programme
